This project was the comprehensive renovation and ‘facelift’ of an existing somewhat dreary ranch-style home in a suburban family-oriented neighborhood of Miami. The concept of the garden involved creating visual drama and “pizzazz”, while also maintaining comfort in a casual, relaxed tropical setting. The program involved demolishing a dated 1970’s era pool and screen enclosure, and relocating the new fanciful swimming pool toward the read of the property to create the sense of space. Natural coral rock was utilized in the hardscapes and native Florida plants were used in the garden to evoke the familiar feeling of “home”.
