This Art Deco Gem is located in prestigious neighborhood in Miami Beach.
The concept of the garden while maintaining the vintage character of the architecture, involved creating visual drama, while also maintaining comfort in a casual, relaxed tropical setting. It is a “Controlled Tropical” that complements the elegance and simplicity of the architecture.
The repetition of some of the plant material, textures and color helps to accomplish the consistency throughout the outdoor spaces. The very simplicity of the monochromatic planting palette highlights each splash of color throughout the garden.
A combination of Florida native plant material was used to evoke the familiar feeling of HOME. This palette combined with some exotic plants adds interest to important areas in the garden where the attention needs to be directed.
Guest are greeted at the entrance by a lush vertical “Living” wall that cascades in to a planter filled with colorful bromeliads.
The entire garden plays in important role complementing the architecture of the house. The big plain open lawn spaces contrast with the dense and rich planting throughout the property and highlights the vintage “Kidney” shape pool.
